So, hey guys, today I’m going to tell you about  Google Analytics tool to track your real-time visitors and we will also learn  How to add Google Analytics to WordPress Without a Plugin. So, let’s start….

What is Google Analytics tool?

So, as the name cleared Google+Analytics means the analytic view of your website. Its a Google product used to track daily visitors and real-time visitors of your website. It is a powerful tool to track your entire website. It gives the data like how many visitors are currently on your website, from where our visitors, how many pages viewed, total session, on which page they are currently now etc.

By this useful information, you can easily get an idea of the weakest point of your website like which post/page is less viewed, from which country visitors are less, on which page/post has less session and after all, you will improve quality of your post/page etc.

So, let’s follow some steps to add Google Analytics to WordPress with live image demonstration.

Add Google Analytics to WordPress Without a Plugin

Now we are going to see to add google analytics to WordPress without a plugin. There are few steps you need to follow step by step.
 
Step 1: Create a Google Analytics Account
To connect your wordpress website to Google Analytics, first of all you need to create a Google Analytics account by using your email and other information. Once you successfully created a Google Analytics account now you need to follow the second step. 
Step 2: Get Your Google Analytics Tracking Code
After creating a Google Analytics account, now you need tracking code of your website by which you can map you website to Google Analytics. Simply select a website(in case of multi website for this account) for which you need tracking code. Go to the Admin section from left taskbar as you can see in below image clearly.
After clicking on Admin option, click on tracking code option listed just below inside of tracking info option. As you can see in below image clearly.
After clicking on tracking code option, you will get some script codes which need to map with your WordPress website. Simply copy the tracking code. As you can see in below image.

Step 3 : Add Tracking Code to header.php File

  • After copying the tracking code from Google Analytics, now you need to go to in dashboard of your WordPress website.
  • After entering in dashboard of WordPress website, click on Editor option listed in Appearance section of left taskbar. As shown in below image clearly.

  • After clicking on editor option, you will get a code editor where all coding portion of your website is presented. You need to click on header.php file.
  • Once you clicked on header.php file, now you need to paste your copied code before the </head>  tag.

(Dashboard→Appearance→Editor→header.php→Paste copied tracking code before tag)

Once you have pasted the code, click on Update Changes option to save your changes.

That’s it. Your Google Analytics is mapped with your WordPress website. Now you can easily track your real-time and daily users every second.
